Seedlings galore!

Plans are afoot for the upcoming CIC – and there are 12 trays of seedlings that need to be potted out.  Who wants to join me out at the park one day (soon!).  No previous experience necessary – even those who think they lack green thumbs are welcome – the more the merrier!
Also – the flags need to be taken down from the XC course from the Eventer Trial.

Let Kate know if you can come out and help.

Canberra Event Schedule

Good-News-II

For those who have opened your Eventer magazine and felt “oh no, there’s hardly any events with EvA80”  – fear not – NCHTA are coming to the rescue and are making sure we can include it in the schedule!

Clinic cancelled

sad news

Sadly, Sam Griffiths has had to return to the UK, and will be unable to come to Canberra.

We hope that he will be able to come again later in the year.  All entry fees will be refunded.

Upcoming clinics

We are excited to announce that Sam Griffiths is interested in coming to the nations capital!  So we are holding a One Day Eventing Clinic with Sam Griffiths, on Saturday 15th July.

SJ in the morning, XC in the afternoon.

But for those who aren’t familiar with his successful career – below are some highlights:

4th Ind Rio Olympics 2016 and Team Bronze
1st Badminton 2014 and team member at WEG 2014
4th Badminton CCI**** 2011
Australian Team Member at the 2010 World Equestrian Teams in the USA

Please email Kate on canberraode@gmail.com for more information, or enter on nominate.

There is a $10 discount for NCHTA members, and they will have preferential entry, with the entry password being sent to them as priority.

Draw nearly finished!

The draw is being finalized and will be available tomorrow.

The competition will start with the pairs cross country at 9:30am.

We encourage fancy dress but still wearing an approved helmet and a XC back protector.

Funky Brew
Coffee will be available. A BBQ will also be running for catering

Then the Eventer Trial part of the day will commence at approx 10am, starting with the 105cm class, then 95, 80 and 60.

The showjumping course will need to be altered between each class, so please help us with this so that we can finish the day earlier rather than later – many hands make light work.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Annual Eventer Trial

Just when you thought the calendar was looking a little dreary – we’re going to brighten it up in July with our annual Eventer Trial.  Last year the weather gods made it near impossible to run it – so we are determined to hold it this year!  This competition is a lot of fun for everyone, with the pairs competition being run starting at 60 cms up to 105 cm and fancy dress is encouraged!  Afterwards, the eventer trial proper will begin which is a SJ round, followed straight away by a section of elements testing the handiness of the horse, such a bending poles, jumping over a tarp, and opening a gate into the start box – when you then go out onto the cross country course proper.

Entries will be opening shortly on nominate.  Here is a link to the Eventer Trial Competition Info which will give you an idea on how the day is run.  Despite it saying 2013 – the rest is correct!

So mark the 2nd July in your diaries….. and don’t forget to mention it to your friends and family – and remember – volunteers are always welcome.
