Trade village

NCHTA is proud that our trade village is coming such a popular place to be! We’ve got saddleries, coffee, canteen (rated as the best by none other than The Eventer magazine!), a bar, feed merchants, and clothing – we have everything covered!

  • This not- for -profit volunteer organisation will provide social marquees at equestrian competitions for Riders, Owners, Officials and supporters to congregate. Placed in front of the Show jumping rings, it will be in prime position for everyone to come, sit, relax and catch all the action. Come to meet up with friends or make new ones and enjoy the opportunity to network and socialise with people linked by a love of horses and equestrian sports! No entry or joining fee, water refill station available and smart device recharge for anyone who might need it.

Upcoming event

Seems like only a few months ago the committee met to plan our March event, and here we are now in the final throes of preparing for the Canberra International Horse Trials.

Many riders have already entered – but fear not – there’s still room for more.
On the topic of rooms – The Statesman is the closest accommodation, and given it’s Floriade, sitting week in Parliment AND our event (with 17 rooms booked for officials) if you want a room, book soon!

XC maps

Our amazing Ben Smith has created maps for the courses tomorrow,

Thank you to those who came along and helped out with preparing. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us!

Remember that Kambah Pony Club are running a canteen.

Back numbers will be available to collect from a WHITE HORSE TRUCK that is parked in front of the canteen,. This truck is called TRUDY and is the latest member of the MacKenzie family. Hence BIG BLUE is for sale.

Pairs draw

Here is the list for the pairs. Riders are leaving the start at approx 1 and a half minute intervals.

Fun and hilarity is guaranteed.
Riders must wear a back protector, boots and a helmet. Ideally, both riders wear back numbers (front and back – so why it’s called a back number is a question for another day).

There are DRESSING jumps that riders try to jump in unison – the pair the scores the highest points and closest to the optimum time will win some prizes!

Pairs information

Pairs cross country. The course will be quite short, with the fences having various height options so that all pairs can be catered for. There will be three “dressing fences” that the two horses must jump as a pair (i.e., side by side). Points will be given for these fences, and penalties will be deducted for refusals and falls. There will also be an optimum time. The height of the dressing jump is 60cm maximum.

Fancy dress is encouraged for the pairs, and there will be a prize for the best fancy-dressed pair (sponsored by Govern Images).  However, please note that this competition is to be run under the relevant EA rules. In particular, it is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that they wear the correct safety helmet and body protector.

You will all receive an email with the draw – and in a few days an email with your back numbers.
Digital course maps for this weekend are available free on CrossCountry App.

Remember you must always check the official map and optimum time at the event and walk your course as presented.
