Hunter Trial results

WOW – what a great day we had yesterday – despite the rather chilly start!

Here are the results from all the Hunter Trial classes:

Pairs, 45, 60, 80, 95, 105

Thank you all again for coming and we hope you had a great time.  And for those who helped pack up the showjumping gear – AWESOME!

Pairs information

Information regarding the competition.

The first competition will be a pairs cross country. The course will be quite short, with the fences having various height options so that all pairs can be catered for. There will be three “dressing fences” which the two horses must jump as a pair (ie side by side). Points will be given for these fences and penalties deducted for refusals and falls. There will also be an optimum time.  The height of the dressing jump is 60cm maximum.

Fancy dress is encouraged for the pairs, however please note that this competition is to be run under the relevant EA rules. In particular, it is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that they wear the correct safety helmet and body protector.

Additional information

There have been a few changes made to the draw – those who are affected have been contacted regarding them.  Click here for the latest draw.

We will be building the showjumping course at 2pm on Saturday, feel free to join us!

A reminder regarding attire: this is a competition, with prize money.  Please make sure you wear competition clothing/Pony club uniform.

Please remember that back protectors are recommended and are mandatory for riders who are EA or NCHTA members.

Pony Club members will need to provide their grading cards upon arrival so they can receive their back numbers.

As usual – the weather forecast for this weekend is fresh – so remember to bring your warm clothes!

Hunter Trial – Draw and notes available

Dear riders – the moment you have all been waiting for – the DRAW!!!

We are looking forward to seeing you all here in Canberra soon.  We will be building the showjumping course on Saturday – feel free to come along and help set up!

Pony Club riders – remember to wear your PC uniform.

Plaiting is not necessary – so don’t worry about freezing your fingers off trying to do that.

For the Showjumping phase, competition attire is to be worn (White breeches/jodphurs and show jacket, with stock/tie)

Cross country your horse will need a bridle or saddle number, and you will need to wear a body protector and approved helmet.

XC clinic times

  • The times for the clinic are as follows.
  • Riders will also be getting an email with their times.
  • Meet Sam out on course near the pine trees near the water jump.
  • Please have a bit of a warm up first so that the lessons run to time as much as possible – or the last group will be in the dark!

Hunter Trial date

Great news! We are running our annual Hunter Trial on the 22 July.

Those who have been before will notice a few differences in the competition from previous years.  We will run the SJ and the XC phases separately, and will not be running the timed section.  The ever popular pairs XC competition will still be held, and we are adding a 45cm XC course for Pony Club members.

Don’t forget to renew your NCHTA membership in time!
